President Karolos Papoulias is giving up his salary

Minister of Finance Ev. Venizelos stated that the President Karolos Papoulias is willing to give up his salary.

According to the country's budget the annual grant to the President of the Republic ισ amounted to 283,694 euros.

The President asked the Minister of Finance to take all necessary actions in order to stop receiving his salary.

"This is a symbolic movement that honors him" said Mr. Venizelos.

Let's see if any of the other well paid politicians will do the same...
