The Greek Communist Party (KKE) as well as the left-wing SYRIZA party rejected the invitation for the meeting among the Greek president Papoulias and the party leaders on Monday for the reason that the new coalition government is not established through elections and thereby is illegitimate. As a result, the meeting was canceled.
KKE leader Aleka Papariga belittled the crisis coalition deal, on the grounds that the temporary government will not have the capability to restrain the nation's huge debt avoiding a default.
"Bankruptcy can not be avoided through a government's financial policy combination", Papariga stated, "The roots of the existing crisis lie within the sick nature of the capitalist system".
Democratic Left leader Fotis Kouvelis welcomed the prospect of elections and he stated that his party "will not participate in the new government scheme and our position will depend on the political commitments and the actions of the new government"
